Booking terms & policies
These are the current booking terms, cancellation policy and privacy information for Star Splash Academy swimming lessons.
Booking terms & conditions
Booking and payment. All lessons must be paid for in full before the term begins. A place is not secured until full payment has been received. Lessons are booked on a first come, first served basis. Payment confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. Payments can be made via Revolut or through the payment link shared by email or text message.
Lesson structure. All lessons are 30 minutes in duration. Lessons run in terms of 6–12 weeks depending on the time of year and pool availability. Lessons must be booked for the full term and are not available on a pay-as-you-go basis. Assessment lessons are approximately 15 minutes in duration, and a €15 assessment fee is payable and deducted from the cost of a term booking if the swimmer enrols.
Booking details. When making payment, please include the swimmer's name, lesson day, time and the term being paid for. All calls, texts and emails will be responded to as soon as possible during business hours. Star Splash Academy reserves the right to change instructors, class times or teaching arrangements where necessary.
Arrival and attendance. Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your lesson. Late arrival will result in reduced lesson time. Children must be collected promptly after their lesson. Parents and guardians remain responsible before and after lessons, including in changing rooms and while waiting on the premises.
Poolside rules and supervision. Parents and guardians are not permitted to enter the water during lessons unless requested by an instructor. They must remain in the designated waiting area and must not enter the pool deck unless invited by the instructor or in an emergency. Instructors supervise swimmers during lesson time only. If a child requires the toilet during a lesson, a parent or guardian must assist.
Health, safety and behaviour. Appropriate swimwear must be worn, and goggles and swim hats should be worn where advised. Children who are not toilet trained must wear an appropriate swim nappy. Do not attend lessons if suffering from sickness, diarrhoea within the previous 48 hours, or a contagious illness. All swimmers must follow instructor and facility safety rules. Respectful behaviour is expected at all times, and Star Splash Academy reserves the right to refuse continuation where behaviour is unsafe, abusive or repeatedly breaches safety rules.
Medical information and safeguarding. Parents, guardians and adult swimmers must inform Star Splash Academy of any medical condition, allergy, disability or additional support need that may affect participation. It is the customer's responsibility to keep this information up to date. Star Splash Academy is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all swimmers and follows relevant Water Safety Ireland principles and Irish child safeguarding legislation.
Cancellation & refund policy
Cooling-off period. A booking may be cancelled by written notice within 14 calendar days of the booking date. Subject to any lessons already delivered, and any lessons expressly agreed to begin during that period, a refund will be issued to the original payment method within 14 days of receiving the cancellation request.
After the 14-day period. After the 14-day cancellation period has expired, term fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, except where required by Irish law or where Star Splash Academy cancels a lesson or is unable to provide the service as agreed.
Missed lessons. Fees are charged for reserving a place in a particular class for the full term. If a swimmer misses a lesson for any reason, including illness, holidays, family commitments, school events or any other reason, the lesson will not be refunded, credited, carried forward or rescheduled. Make-up lessons are not guaranteed. Where Star Splash Academy offers a make-up lesson or credit, this will be at its discretion and does not create an ongoing entitlement.
If we cancel. If Star Splash Academy cancels a lesson and cannot reasonably offer a replacement, Star Splash Academy will provide an appropriate refund or credit where required by Irish law. If lessons proceed as scheduled, refunds or make-up lessons will not be provided where a swimmer is unable to attend due to local weather conditions. If the Academy cancels due to severe weather or circumstances beyond our control, customers will be notified as soon as practicable.
Force majeure and changes. Star Splash Academy is not responsible for interruptions caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including pool closures, public health emergencies or government restrictions. Star Splash Academy may amend these Terms & Conditions where necessary for operational, safety or legal reasons. Where a material change affects a booking already made, reasonable notice will be given and a fair remedy will be offered where appropriate.
